Julie is the Coaching Service Manager and Learning Programmes Manager for the Open University managing and supervising 17 internal coaches, and 4 external coach suppliers. She has been a coach for 2011 years, as both an internal coach working in the organisation as well as having her own private practice and she has been a qualified coaching supervisor since 2018.
She started as a generalist HR practitioner, before specialising in learning and development in 2009. Always interested in people development, Julie has designed and delivered wide-scale development programmes and multiple bespoke learning activities. Her portfolio includes leadership, management and personal development.
In her role as Coaching Service Manager, she focusses on managing an internal coaching service for the organisation, working with people that want to explore coaching as part of their development, identifying their learning outcomes from the assignment and matching them with either an internal coach or external coach depending on need.
The internal coaches are employed by the organisation and perform as a coach alongside their contracted role. As the Coaching Service Manager, Julie ensures that they are provided with continuous professional development events, ensures the service is operating ethically and aligned to the International Coaching Federations (ICF) core competencies along with providing coaching supervision.
Julie loves her work as a supervisor, working with coaches in the organisation around their own practice, developing their style and supporting them with issues that come up. She brings particular expertise in internal coaching to the ICCS recognising that the role brings very specific challenges that are not found elsewhere in coaching.
